Shah Rukh Khan has announced UNIFYD, a new music festival scheduled for March 20, 2027, at Etihad Live on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. Arijit Singh, Sonu Nigam and Karan Aujla are the first major artists confirmed for its inaugural edition. The one-day event will feature more than 15 performers across multiple stages, according to organisers.
The Bollywood actor will oversee the festival’s artistic direction and creative vision. D’YAVOL Live and District are producing the event in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism, Abu Dhabi, and Miral, with Emirates NBD also associated with the festival.
A lineup spanning Hindi film music and Punjabi hits
The opening announcement brings together three artists with different musical catalogues and audiences.
Arijit Singh’s repertoire includes Tum Hi Ho, Channa Mereya, Chaleya and Sajni. Karan Aujla brings Punjabi music and rap to the programme, with tracks including Tauba Tauba, Softly and Winning Speech. Sonu Nigam, whose songs include Kal Ho Naa Ho, Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin and Main Agar Kahoon, will present a special performance. Organisers describe the appearance as Nigam’s first performance at a music festival.
The three singers form the initial lineup. Further artist announcements are expected as preparations continue for the March event. Specific set lists and the complete performance schedule have yet to be announced.
Shah Rukh Khan’s role in the festival
UNIFYD places Khan in a curatorial role, with responsibility for the event’s broader creative direction.
Explaining the idea, Khan said, “Music has that same extraordinary power,” referring to its ability to bring people together in the way cinema does. Organisers also plan to take the festival to other cities and international markets after its Abu Dhabi debut. Those plans remain separate from the confirmed inaugural event.
